Transformers
Transformers is a socially inclusive youth-led programme of creative skills development which has the power to transform the lives of young people in East Cambridgeshire. The project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund and East Cambridgeshire District Council, is managed and delivered by ADeC, the arts development agency for East Cambridgeshire in partnership with the Cambridgeshire Youth Service, Cambridgeshire Team for Traveller Education, youth clubs in Ely and Littleport and East Cambridgeshire Sports Development. The programme is funded for 3 years.
There are three strands to project delivery:-
- Ely Programme in partnership with the Ely Garage Youth Club supported by Cambridgeshire Youth Service
- Littleport Programme being delivered in partnership with the Youth Service and East Cambridgeshire District Council Sports Development
- Youth Traveller programme being delivered in partnership with Cambridgeshire Team for Traveller Education, Cambridgeshire Youth Service and from 2008 East Cambridgeshire District Council Sports Development.
Participants have been engaged in photography, film, fashion & design, music & dance, performing & visual arts, crafts and puppetry supported by professional artists. Participants can also achieve the Arts Award, the accreditation for young people which supports their development as artists and leaders. www.artsaward.org.uk
