Tickets now on sale. Marking the centenary of outbreak of World War 1 with a sumptuous and revelatory concert, given by the celebrated Cambridge Voices in Ely’s stunning Lady Chapel with its world-famous acoustics, featuring ravishing music and poetry from Britain, Russia, Germany, and France.
This Summer ADeC is staging their annual series of Saturday afternoon bandstand concerts in Ely’s Jubilee Gardens. On Saturday afternoons from 2-4pm the gardens will come alive to a mixture of music to suit all tastes. The informal concerts will be free and everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic and a blanket to enjoy some wonderful music in beautiful surroundings.
The concerts are a great opportunity for ADeC to support local musicians and the first show on 26th July will be by Ely based singer Karen Valelli, who with her band will be will be performing melodic acoustic covers alongside original songs. On the 2nd August Krusty Whiskas will be bringing us their lively mix of country and pop from the 1950’s to the present day. On 9th August local favorites Parisian Swing will be playing relaxing swing jazz. Singer songwriter Tony Rippingale takes to the bandstand on 23rd August with the series brought a close on 30th August by Red Velvet who offer passionate and sensual folk music.
