ACCLAIMED Russian soprano Irina Tutt is to return to St Andrew’s Parish Church, Witchford, near Ely, this April, to perform an exclusive concert in aid of the church where she was married four years ago.

Proceeds from the event on Saturday April 17 will be split between the church’s extension fund, parts of which date back to the 12th Century and Ward C2, the children’s cancer ward at Addenbrooke’s hospital where a young family friend was recently treated.  Irina married village local Andrew Tutt at St Andrew’s back in 2006 after the couple met during a singing engagement in England in 2004.

The couple has now set up home in Surrey and Irina continues to give performances both in the UK and in her home country, most recently with a recital in the Glinka Philharmonic Hall in St Petersburg. Irina trained at the world renowned St. Petersburg N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire and will perform a mixed programme to provide an Evening Of Classical European and Russian Music.
