Poetry in and around us. A practical workshop run by two experienced and award-winning poets, Doris Corti and John Lyons, at the Babylon Gallery in Ely. Based on close observations of the immediate environment, Doris and John will demonstrate methods of drawing inspiration from what is visually experienced, taking you through observation, recording impressions, the first draft, the editing process towards the resolution of a successful poem. The workshop will be followed by an evening reading given by Doris Corti and John Lyons from 7pm to 9pm. Workshop participants will be given the opportunity to read resolved poems at this poetry reading in the Gallery alongside the poets.
