A new laid-back Sunday lunchtime club for Jazz lovers is being launched in the Stables bar at Lamb Hotel in time for Valentine’s Day. Organiser Nigel Smith said ‘Having listened to people for years that there was no jazz in Ely either to listen to or to play, I’ve decided to start up Ely Jazz Club. This new venture which is supported by ADeC will give people of all ages the opportunity to listen to, and if they want, to participate in mainstream and contemporary Jazz. Playing some favourite standards and some different styles most of the sessions are trios and feature a local musician of note. ‘
