31 January 2012 to 29 February 2012
Ely Cathedral hosts the world famous Quaker Tapestry. It tells the story of the Quaker movement and of its huge contribution to the political, economic & social development of this & other nations. A captivating and colourful stitched tale of 350 years of social history is on display for the first time at Ely Cathedral. Thirty nine of the inspirational panels will travel to Ely from their permanent home in the Lake District (Quaker Tapestry Exhibition Centre, Kendal). The panels have travelled to over 150 venues in the UK, Europe and America in the last 20 years.
The free exhibition includes a film, audio guides, children’s activities, gift shop and embroidery demonstrations. Open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. Groups of 15 or more should book in advance.
