A sweet engaging film this surprise French box office hit is a variation on the Prodigal Son. Antoine reluctantly returns to his rural hometown after tne years in the big city when his father is hospitalised. Touching and honest and with an eye for character and the small battles of everyday life, this apparently simple story of a son's return to his village captures family dynamics perceptively, revealing  decades of stored grievances.
