regeneration: stitch-links
Sat 8th May – Sun 13th June (please note the gallery will be closed all day on Thursday 27 May for Arts Award Training)
12 noon - 4pm
An exhibition of contemporary textiles by the stitch-links group. The starting point was the regeneration of the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf, and the seven textile artists have used a variety of techniques - felting, machine embroidery, layering, hand stitching, quilting and shibori to translate their ideas.
stitch-links is a new exciting group of textile artists from London and East Anglia. Their work explores contemporary themes and techniques from seven very different perspectives. This is their first exhibition and the work comprises their personal responses to London Docklands.
FREE artist talk : Sunday 23 May, tea & cake from 3.45pm, talk 4 - 5pm. 'My Family & Other Textiles' LIz Hunter
