Celebrating 2012 Community Grant Fund - applications open 1 December

ADeC is administering the scheme on behalf of East Cambridgeshire District Council, and will be running an information event about the scheme and how to put together an application at the Babylon Gallery on Monday 16 January 2012 from 4.30pm - 6.30pm. This will be a drop-in session, please come with worked up ideas or draft application if you can or just come and find out more.

ADeC and East Cambridgeshire District Council are inviting communities throughout the district to bid for ‘Celebrating 2012’ grants with a funding pot of £6,000 to help with local celebrations.  Summer 2012, from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, through to the Paralympics, is shaping up to be an amazing few months and this grant scheme is designed to help local communities put on their own local celebrations. Whether you’re inspired by the Diamond Jubilee, Olympics, or Paralympics, or local sporting and cultural events taking place in next Summer, the funding can be used either for a completely new event, or to develop existing activities. We want to support as many communities as possible, across the whole of East Cambridgeshire, so if you have a good idea, now is the time to get planning!

The fund opens for applications on 1 December and closes on 31 January 2012, The maximum grant is £500, and there is no minimum limit. The total fund available is £6,000 and is likely to be over-subscribed so we’re encouraging groups to apply for what they need rather than the maximum amount as we want to reach as many people as possible.

The application form and guidelines are available here as a downloadable form, or contact ADeC on 01353 616991 or email office@adec.org.uk more information. Printed copies can also be picked up from The Grange, and from Babylon Gallery.
