About ADeC
ADeC stands for Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire. ADeC is an independent company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, with funding from East Cambridgeshire District Council. ADeC is responsible for the development and delivery of the arts in East Cambridgeshire, offering a wide ranging arts development programme in partnership with professional and amateur arts organisations and providing active support to groups and projects based in the District.
Our Trustees
Andy O’Hanlon (Chair of Trustees) works on a range of culture and community related economic development and sustainability projects in South Cambridgeshire. He is a founder member of Inspire – well being through arts, the National Association of Local Government Arts Officers (NALGAO) and a Trustee of Arts Research Limited. He enjoys making giant puppets
Alastair Haines is the Coordinator for the 2012 Olympiad at Cambridgeshire County Council. He has worked in arts management for over 20 years in a variety of roles, working for organisations such as Arts Council of England, National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, Living East, and Screen East. Keen to work across sectors, linking ideas and projects, Alastair has a background in media technology and media education. Alastair is also a Trustee for Access Arts, an online arts education company.
Jonathan Wainwright worked for the car importer Peugeot and then advertising agency McCanns; heading up their motivation division in his late 20’s.He founded his own marketing services agency, which created advertising and marketing campaigns for companies such as Renault, Nissan, Honda and Volvo. Today, he provides business development consultancy enabling organisations to improve their commercial effectiveness through sharper marketing, Web 2.0 & traditional communications and team development. Julie Weaver (Joint Treasurer) is a qualified Chartered Accountant working in practice in Cambridge, specialising in charities and auditing. Julie has lived in Littleport since 1985 and has a particular interest in improving arts provision in rural communities.

ADeC Friends & Membership schemes
ADeC is a membership organisation. Membership is open to everyone living or based in East Cambridgeshire, membership is free. We also have a Friends scheme. Friends can enjoy a range of benefits. The majority of ADeC’s Trustees are elected from the membership. Find out more about membership.
Babylon Gallery
ADeC manages the Babylon Gallery, situated on Ely’s riverside. The gallery has established itself as a major venue within the eastern region for exhibiting some of the best in contemporary fine and applied arts. Admission is free.
